It wasn't too long ago that granite was everywhere and I do mean everywhere. It's been declining in use the last few years and the day has come when it's finally been overtaken in popularity by something a little better. Any guesses?

It's quartz my friends and it's beautiful. You may remember it as "engineered stone". The NKBA (that's the National Kitchen & Bath Association)  says that quartz use by designers is on the rise.

If you need a reminder on what quartz is, it's countertops that are engineered stone with at least 90% ground up quartz mixed up with binders including resins, and then molded into slabs.
